Directions to the FDM
Traveling by train
The Deutsche Bahn AG travel service can be used to find railway connections to Freiburg. From Freiburg Central Station it is only a ten-minute walk to the FDM. When you get out of the station main building go down Bismarckallee to the left. You will arrive at a big crossing with traffic lights where you need to cross the street and change to the other side. Walk down Stefan-Meier-Straße for about 80 m. Take a right onto a small pedestrian path leading on Rheinstraße. The building on the left is the Institute of Mathematics where the FDM is located on the 1st floor. The entrance is around the corner on Eckerstraße.
Traveling by car
From the highway A5 take the exit Freiburg-Mitte toward Freiburg/Titisee-Neustadt merging onto B31a. Take the exit toward Heinrich-von-Stephan-Straße and turn right on Heinrich-von-Stephan-Straße. Continue on Schnewlinstraße, Bismarckallee, and Stefan-Meier-Straße. From Stefan-Meier-Straße turn right into Alberstraße and again right into Eckerstraße. The building on the right is the Institute of Mathematics where the FDM is located on the 1st floor. There are some parking lots in front of the Institute and some around the corner on Rheinstraße, but they are not free of charge! You must buy a parking ticket at one of the Pay and Display machines on Alberstraße and Rheinstraße.
