The Tremor Project
The new tremor project homepage (currently under construction).
Tremor is characterised by involuntary movements of parts of the body, especially of the upper limbs. Different forms of tremor, like tremor in Parkinson's disease or essential tremor are assumed to have different pathophysiological backgrounds.
Aim of the project
For a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying tremor and its generation, multivariate analysis techniques are used to infer the interaction structure between the trembling muscles and regions of the brain, which are supposed to be involved in the generation of tremor. Improving the knowledge of the pathophysiology of the different forms of tremor could enhance the success of therapies like stereotactic neurosurgery or medication.
